The steps below will help customers with an existing Stripe account linked to Practice Better seamlessly transition to Practice Better Payments.
Please be sure you have time to complete these steps consecutively to avoid any payment disruptions.
If you are unable to complete all the steps below, one after another, you can temporarily relink your existing Stripe account to Practice Better either after completing your Practice Better Payments application (Step 3 below) or after copying all payment information from your existing Stripe account and adding it to your new Practice Better Payments account (Step 5 below).
You can't relink to your existing Stripe account while the Sync Client process is occurring (Step 6 below).
When you are ready to relink to Practice Better Payments, first Unlink Stripe and then select Enable next to Practice Better Payments.
- Go to your Settings > 3rd Party Integration page.
- Click Unlink next to Stripe.
- Select Set Up next to Practice Better Payments and complete your application.
- After completing your Practice Better Payments application, go to the Payments Dashboard through the Settings (gear icon) at the top right of your Practice Better portal.
Ensure the status of your Practice Better Payments account is Enabled or Completed.
Note: if it is any other status, you must wait for Stripe to verify your new account and mark it Enabled or Completed.
- Once your new Practice Better Payments account status is in good standing, you will need to copy all payment information from your existing Stripe account and add it to your new Practice Better Payments account.

Please ensure you have completed the above steps before proceeding.
Now it is time to match the billing information in Practice Better Payments to your client records.
Go to your Payments Dashboard > Sync Clients tab and click the Start Sync button. Learn more about this feature. - When you select the Start sync option, you will be presented with a dialogue box asking if you want to Add new clients when no matches exist. Select this option to add new clients to Practice Better if we cannot find a match based on name and email address.
- Once this sync process is complete, you will receive an email notification that looks like this:
- Review the Sync Client summary from the Sync Clients tab.
