To bill a client with a card on file, you’ll first need to create an invoice for that client. You can do so by going to:
My Clients > [Client Name] > Billing & Payments > Create an invoice (from the Fast Action Button)
If the invoice is associated with a Practice Better booking, package, or program you can generate the line item by:
- Clicking on the Fast Action Button in the bottom right corner
- Select Add line item from booking / Add line item from package / Add line item from program
- Select the item from the list:
Once you’re happy with the invoice details, hit the Process button in the toolbar:
(Your client will not receive an email up to this point, only when the invoice payment is completed)
You have a few options for payment at this point:
- Collecting a cash payment
- Recording a bank transfer
- Charging a new credit card
- Charging an existing credit card
Click the Pay now button at the bottom of the invoice. For clients with cards on file, you’ll see the option to process an existing credit card:
Click Submit to process the payment. If successful, a receipt will be emailed to both you and your clients for record keeping.
