Our IT team can import your clients' basic information (name, email address, mailing address, date of birth, gender) into your account if the information is provided in an Excel or .CSV format.
We can also assist with importing client documents into your Documents section if you can have these exported from your current system. We will need the client files organized by folder for each client. Each folder should be labeled with the patient/client ID or email address which can be referenced back to the CSV file mentioned above.
We can set up a secure Box.com folder for you to upload your client data.

Q: What do I need to import my files?
A: If you let us know your current software, our team can contact your current software provider and find out your documents' file type. We can then guide you through how to access and download your files from your software, and we provide a secure way to send your data to our team.
Q: What does this migration service cost?
A: The migration service is absolutely free to clients coming over to Practice Better. Your current software solution should also not charge you for obtaining your current files.
Q: Will you train me on how to set up my Practice Better account?
A: If you sign up to a Plus or Team plan, we provide additional training within the first month, walking you through step-by-step how to best set up your Practice Better account for success.
Q: What elements can you import?
A: Our migration process is self-serve first and foremost, allowing you to migrate your own data. If you are struggling on migrating your charts, here's how Practice Better can help.
Our team can import:
- Files, charts, and labs
- Text files
- Images, like a scanned food diary or scanned bloodwork
- Our team tries to preserve as much of your data as possible, finding a location in the Additional Notes field for any extra data
Our team doesn't import:
- Your online course or program. Our team can help you learn the flexible, full-function programs feature in Practice Better, but transferring your existing course over is your responsibility.
