Before You Begin
- The steps in this article require you to purchase the Nutrition Planning add-on in your subscription. Find the full steps in Getting Started With Nutrition Planning →
- Every nutrition plan starts as Private, which means only you can see it. Build your meal plan first before you share it with your client. See Creating and Customizing a Meal Plan →
- Sharing the Nutrition Plan will share all the Meal Plans within it, even one that you might still be working on. Keep your client informed if there’s a chance they might see something unfinished.
Sharing a Nutrition Plan
- Open the client's Nutrition Plan page.
- Select the share icon in the top right to open the pop-up.
- In Share nutrition plan pop-up, select Share with client.
- Keep Notify client selected to send a notification, or clear it to share without one.
- Select Save.
✅ You’ll see a “Shared” indicator next to the client’s name at the top of the Nutrition Plan page.
Notifying Your Client
Notify client is selected by default when you choose Share with client. Your client receives an in-app notification and an email. If you clear it, your client still has access in their Client Portal but receives no notification.
What Your Client Sees
After you share a nutrition plan, your client opens it from their Client Portal. They see the planner, meals, and recipes you curated for them, in a view they can’t change.
Opening a Shared Nutrition Plan
- Your client logs in to their Client Portal.
- They select Nutrition Plan from the Resources menu.
- They have a read-only view of the Nutrition plan page, including Overview and Meal plans tabs.
- Either from the Recent meal plans panel, or from the Meal plans tab, clients click on a meal plan to open it.
- They can click on a meal slot to see the recipes’ details.
What Your Client Can View
- Meal plans: Each meal plan in the weekly planner, laid out the way you see it.
- Meal details: The recipes in each meal, with calories, carbs, fat, and protein. Servings to cook and portions to eat appear as plain text, along with the leftover tag.
- Recipe details: The ingredients, nutrition, and directions for each recipe.
- Grocery list: Each meal plan’s grocery list, grouped by store section, with the ingredients your client needs.
📍 Note: Clients cannot edit recipes, servings, portions, or leftovers. Only you change the plan.
Stopping Sharing
- Open the client's Nutrition Plan page.
- Select the share icon in the top right.
- Select Private.
- Select Save.
⚠️ Important: Your client loses access immediately and does not receive a notification.
How Sharing Affects Meal Plans
- Sharing applies to the whole nutrition plan, including every meal plan in it.
- Adding a meal plan to a shared nutrition plan does not send another notification.
- Deleting a meal plan removes your client's access to it. Deleting the nutrition plan removes access immediately.
