Sometimes you need to offer services that don't require your clients to book a specific date or time. Think of services like blood work orders, resource downloads, or product purchases - things your clients can access immediately without waiting for an appointment slot.
Practice Better makes this simple through what we call "empty packages" - and don't worry, our support team is always here if you need a helping hand along the way.
How to Create a Non-Scheduled Service
Here's how you can set up a service that your clients can purchase and access instantly.
- Go to My Practice > My Services.
- Click the Fast Action Button in the bottom right corner and select Add package.

When the package setup page opens, you'll want to:
- Set the package name to match your service offering (for example, "Blood Work" or "Nutrition Guide Download")
- Add the fee that clients will pay for this service

Include a description (optional but recommended) that clearly explains what clients will receive.
💡 This description is your chance to set clear expectations - your clients will appreciate knowing exactly what they're purchasing.

After clicking Save near the top-right, Practice Better will display a prompt asking about session scheduling. Since you're creating a non-appointment service, simply click Continue to proceed without adding any scheduled sessions.
What happens when clients book this empty Package
Once your empty package is live, here's the streamlined experience your clients will have:
- When clients visit your Bookings Page and select this offering, they'll bypass the typical appointment scheduling step entirely. Instead, they'll be directed straight to payment (if you've configured fees and payment settings).
This creates a smooth, professional experience like purchasing any other service online.
