Opening the Client Hub from a Text Editor
When you're working on a session note or protocol, the Client Hub icon is built right into the text editor so you can access your client's file in just one click.

To open a client hub from the text editor:
- Open a session note or protocol from the client's file.
- Click the Open Client Hub button in the top-left corner of the text editor.
- The Client Hub will open as a floating panel tear the top-right of your screen.
- Click any section from the Client Hub menu to view that area of the client's file — such as previous Notes, Protocols, completed Forms, Medical History, and more.
📍 Note: The Client Hub is read-only for most sections. Unsigned session notes are an exception — you can edit those directly from within the Client Hub.
Once open, the Client Hub stays visible as you navigate the portal, so you won't lose your place if you need to move between sections.
Opening the Client Hub with a Keyboard Shortcut
If you prefer to keep your hands on the keyboard, you can launch the Client Hub without reaching for your mouse.
- While working on a session note or protocol, press and hold Control + Shift + Z, then release.
- The Client Hub will open automatically for the client whose record you're working in.
💡 This shortcut works on both Mac and PC.
Working in Fullscreen Mode
When you're writing a detailed note and want more room to work, Fullscreen mode expands your editor and gives you space to keep the Client Hub open alongside it.
- Open a session note or protocol.
- Click the Fullscreen button in the top-left corner of the notes editor.
- Open a Client Hub using the icon in the text editor or the keyboard shortcut to reference your client's file alongside your writing.
- Exit full screen by clicking the Fullscreen button in the top-left corner again.
Opening Multiple Client Hubs at Once
You can open more than one Client Hub at a time — for example, keeping a previous protocol and a completed intake form visible simultaneously while you write.
Go to your Settings > Portal Preferences page and ensure you have checked Allow multiple client hubs to be opened for one client. Click Save Changes at the top-right.
Simply launch additional Client Hubs using the text editor icon or keyboard shortcut, or using the (+) plus button at the top-right corner of a Client Hub.
Each Client Hub opens as a separate floating panel that you can reposition and resize on your screen.
If you'd prefer to limit each client to one open Client Hub at a time, go to Settings > Portal Preferences and uncheck Allow multiple client hubs to be opened for one client. Click Save Changes at the top-right.
