What Is an Annual Plan?
An annual plan lets you pay for your Practice Better subscription upfront for a full year instead of month to month. Plus and Professional plan subscribers save 10% compared to the monthly rate — and that discount is locked in for as long as you stay on an annual plan. Team plan subscribers on annual billing receive complimentary migration support ($500 value) to help you bring your client data from another EHR.
For current pricing, visit the Practice Better pricing page.
Who Can Sign Up for an Annual Plan?
Annual plans are currently available to:
- New customers creating an account during the beta period.
- Free trial users converting to a paid plan.
If you're an existing customer on a monthly plan, annual plan options are not currently shown in your account. Reach out to our support team if you'd like to explore your options.
📍 Note: The Starter annual plan is separate and unaffected by this change.
How Billing and Renewals Work
- Annual plans are billed upfront for 12 months.
- Your plan renews automatically at the end of each term — no action needed on your part.
- Your renewal rate is the then-current annual price, with your discount applied if applicable.
- You can view your plan tier, billing interval, and renewal date at any time on the My Subscription page in your Practice Better portal.
Canceling Your Annual Plan
You can cancel your annual plan at any time directly from your account. When you cancel:
- You keep full access to Practice Better until the end of your current billing period.
- Any active add-ons are also canceled at that time.
- Refunds are not issued automatically upon cancellation.
Refund window: If you cancel your annual plan within 14 days of your most recent payment, you may be eligible for a refund. Contact our support team to request one.
Downgrading or Changing Your Plan
You can change your plan at any time from your account settings.
Downgrading to a lower tier or monthly plan:
- A prorated credit for unused time on your current plan is applied to your Practice Better account.
- That credit is automatically applied to your future invoices, including any monthly add-on charges, until it's used up.
- Your new billing period starts on the day of the change.
Upgrading to a higher annual tier:
- Your new plan takes effect immediately.
- You receive a prorated credit for unused time on your previous plan, which is applied to future invoices.
Canceling while a credit remains:
- Any remaining account credit is forfeited and cannot be refunded as cash, unless you are within the 14-day refund window.
Promo Codes and Annual Plans
If you have an active promo code on a monthly plan and switch to an annual plan, that promo code will be removed from your account. Practice Better will display a message explaining this at the time of the switch. Annual plans for Plus and Professional already include a built-in 10% discount.
Team Plan: Free Migration Support
Team plan subscribers on an annual plan receive free migration support to help move your client data from another EHR system. After signing up, you'll receive an email from our team with a few intake questions. Replying to that email adds you to the migration queue.
If you don't see the email, check your spam folder or contact our support team and we'll help get you sorted.
