Practice Better lets you set a different currency for an individual service, package, program, payment plan, or invoice, separate from your practice's default currency. Use this when you need to bill a specific client or resource in a currency other than your usual default, without changing your global settings.

Before You Begin
By default, every service, package, program, payment plan, and invoice you create uses the currency set in your Invoicing & Payment Settings. If you haven't set that up yet, or want to change your practice-wide default, see Configuring Invoice, Currency, and Tax Settings →
The steps below cover overriding that default for one resource at a time, so you're not locked into a single currency across your whole practice.
Adjusting Currency for a Specific Resource
You can set a custom currency on any of the following:
- Services
- Packages
- Programs
- Payment plans
- Standalone invoices
To adjust the currency:
- Open the service, package, program, payment plan, or invoice you want to update.
- Locate the Fee field, then click the currency toggle to the right of it.
- Select the currency you want to use from the Currency dropdown.
- Click Select to confirm.
💡 Tip: Each resource can carry its own currency, so, for example, you’re able to bill some services in USD and others in CAD at the same time.
Setting a New Default Currency
If you check Set as my default currency in the popup, you're not just updating this one resource. Leave the box unchecked to change the currency for this resource only.
With this checked it updates your practice-wide default currency, the same setting covered in Configuring Invoice, Currency, and Tax Settings →
📍 Note: Currency and tax rate are independent settings. Adjusting a resource's currency doesn't change its tax rate. To set multiple tax rates on an invoice, see Adding Multiple Tax Rates in an Invoice →
Billing Across a Team
If your practice is on a Team plan, team members can still adjust the currency on their own services, packages, programs, and invoices this way, as long as they have “modify” permission for that resource. Managed Billing doesn't lock currency to the practice default.
