Your Fullscript integration comes with several settings that give you control over how supplement recommendations, templates, dosages, and client discounts work across your practice. This article walks you through each setting and how to configure it to fit your workflow.
📍 Note: You must have Fullscript linked to Practice Better before accessing these settings. If you haven't connected your account yet, see Setting up your Fullscript Integration for Labs and Supplements.

Accessing Your Fullscript Settings
To access your Fullscript settings, go to Settings & Preferences > 3rd Party Integration and click the gear icon next to the Fullscript integration.
📍 Note: If you are on the Team Plan, each team member can manage their own Fullscript settings independently.
Creating Corresponding Fullscript Recommendations When Publishing a Protocol
When this setting is enabled, Practice Better automatically creates a Fullscript recommendation whenever you publish a protocol that includes Fullscript supplements — no extra steps required on your end.
Your client will receive two email notifications:
- Practice Better: A protocol notification email with a link to view their protocol in the Client Portal and order their supplements directly from Fullscript.
- Fullscript: An email with a link to their pre-populated cart, ready for checkout.
📍 Note: If you disable this setting, your client will still receive the protocol notification from Practice Better — they just won't receive the Fullscript ordering email or have a pre-populated cart. Disabling this setting does not affect any previously published protocols.
To enable or disable this setting globally, check or uncheck Create corresponding Fullscript recommendation when publishing a protocol in your Fullscript settings.
Disabling the Recommendation for a Specific Protocol or Supplement
You have two options for overriding the global setting on a per-protocol or per-supplement basis — useful when you want to recommend a supplement for reference without prompting a purchase.
To disable for an entire protocol: Open the protocol before publishing and uncheck Create a Fullscript recommendation when the protocol is published.
📍 Note: This option is only available before the protocol is published.
To exclude a single supplement: Click Edit on the individual supplement recommendation within the protocol and check Exclude supplement from Fullscript recommendation.
✅ This level of control means you can keep your global setting enabled while making exceptions exactly where you need them.
Including Fullscript Templates When Creating New Protocols
If you've built templates in Fullscript for your most frequently recommended supplement combinations, you can pull them directly into Practice Better when creating protocols or protocol templates — saving you from duplicating work across both platforms.
📍 Note: Fullscript templates are created and managed within your Fullscript account. Practice Better protocol templates are created within Practice Better. Enabling this setting lets you use a Fullscript template as the starting point for a Practice Better protocol.

To use a Fullscript template when creating a protocol, go to the Protocols page in your client's file and click the Fast Action Button in the bottom-right corner. Your Fullscript templates will appear at the bottom of the template list.
Disable this option if you only want to see Practice Better templates displayed in the Create from template pop-up. Disabling this setting does not affect any existing protocols.
Showing Recommended Dosages When Adding Supplements to Protocols
Supplement suppliers may include recommended dosages for products in your Fullscript catalog. With this setting enabled, you'll be prompted to apply the supplement's recommended dose, frequency, and notes when adding it to a protocol — giving you a useful starting point that you can adjust as needed.
If a product doesn't include a recommended dosage, this prompt won't appear and you'll enter the dosage details manually as usual.
Adjusting Client Dispensary Discounts
Practice Better gives you the flexibility to offer personalized discounts to individual clients on top of your clinic-wide dispensary discount — a great way to support clients who need ongoing supplement support.
Here's how the two discount types work together:
- Clinic discount — a global discount applied to all client orders from your dispensary.
- Client discount — an individual discount set per client, applied in addition to the clinic discount. These discounts stack.
For example, if your clinic discount is 10% and a client's individual discount is 15%, that client will receive 25% off at checkout. Clients can see their applied discount on the Fullscript checkout page when they go to order. You can set different discount amounts for different clients and update a client's discount at any time.
To adjust a client's discount:
- Go to the Protocols section of their client file and select the Fullscript Settings & Orders tab.
- Use the dropdown menu to select a discount amount.
- Click Save Changes.
📍 Note: To view a client's full order history, log in to your Fullscript account directly. Order history is not available within Practice Better.

Disabling Fullscript Lab Sync
By default, Fullscript lab orders are created and synced between Fullscript and Practice Better, allowing you to manage labs from within your Practice Better portal. If you prefer to manage lab orders exclusively within Fullscript, you can disable this sync.
To disable lab sync, check Disable creation and synchronization of Fullscript lab orders in Practice Better in your Fullscript settings. Then click Save Changes near the top-right.
📍 Note: You can re-enable lab sync at any time by returning to this setting.
