Transferring ownership moves a resource from one team member to another within the same team account. Unlike sharing, which gives team members access to use a resource, transferring ownership makes the receiving team member the new owner — responsible for managing and maintaining it going forward.

What Can Be Transferred
Ownership transfer is available for the following resource types:
- Services
- Packages
- Forms
- Disclaimers
- Note Templates
- Protocol Templates
- Saved Lifestyle Recommendations

Who Can Transfer Resources
Any team member with the Share & Transfer Resource permission enabled, along with the appropriate resource and team member access, can initiate a transfer.

How Transferring Works
A few things to know before you transfer:
- Transfers can be reversed. If you need to move a resource back to the original owner, follow the same steps and select the original owner as the recipient.
- Sharing settings are inherited. The new owner takes over with the same sharing settings that were in place before the transfer — nothing is reset.
- Existing client data is unaffected. Active bookings and packages tied to a transferred service or package are not impacted by the transfer.
- Access after transfer depends on permissions. The original owner may retain access to the resource if their permissions and team member access allow it.
📍 Note: To transfer all resources from a team member in bulk, the only full bulk option is available during the team member deletion flow. When deleting a team member, Practice Better gives you the option to reassign all of their owned resources to another team member at once. Transferring Services, Packages, Note Templates, Protocol Templates, and Lifestyle Recommendations
- Go to the relevant resource page. For example, My Practice > My Services or My Practice > Note Templates.
- Click the More Options menu (3 dots) near the top-right of the page.
- Select the transfer option: Transfer Services, Transfer Packages, or Transfer Ownership, depending on the resource type.
- Select the receiving team member from the Transfer ownership to... dropdown.
- Check the boxes next to the resources you want to transfer.
- Click Transfer.
Transferring Forms
The transfer flow for forms uses a dedicated button rather than the More Options menu (3 dots).
- Go to My Practice > Forms & Waivers.
- Click the Transfer Ownership button near the top of the list.
- Select the receiving team member from the Transfer ownership to... dropdown.
- Check the boxes next to the forms you want to transfer.
- Click Transfer.
