Adding Billable Units
Superbills and Claims require you to define billable units (typically in 15-minute increments) and procedure codes for each service you provide.
The billable units and unit cost will be used to calculate the total charge for each service. You can set up your billable units by using the following instructions:
1) Go to My Practice > My Services
2) Click Edit next to an existing service.
3) Go to the Insurance Billing section under the Advanced Options tab:
4) Enter the number of units for your service. The cost per unit will be automatically calculated based on your service fee, but you can manually adjust this value by editing the Cost per unit field directly. You don’t need to enter a cost per unit in your Service if you have already entered a Default Unit Charge in your saved insurance codes and added a default Billing Code to your Service.
