You can manage your client’s journal settings in one place, including hiding nutrient details, disabling calories burned, and turning off specific entry types. These changes help you customize what your clients can view and log in their Practice Better Journals.
Updating Journal Settings
Follow these steps to update the journal settings for a client.
- Go to My Clients and double-click on a client's name.
- Click on the Journals link in the left navigation bar.
- Click the Journal Settings button near the top-right.
- Adjust the relevant settings (see options below).
- Changes are saved automatically.
Available Journal Settings
On the Journal Settings page, you can enable or disable the following options.
These settings only impact the client’s view of their journals. Practitioners can always view all available data in their client’s Journals.
Hide Nutrient Details (Food Entries)
- Check “Hide nutritional details and nutrient targets” to remove nutrient breakdowns and daily totals from the client’s view.
📍 Please Note: This will also hide nutrient details in meal plans embedded in your client’s Protocols.
Hide Calories Burned (Lifestyle Journal)
- Check “Hide calories burned for activity entries” to prevent clients from logging calories burned or seeing calories burned from integrated wearables data.
Disable Specific Entry Types
- Click the More Options menu (3 dots) > Disable next to any of the following entry types to hide them from the client’s Journal.
- Food
- Mood
- Activity
- Water
- Bowel Movements
- Measurements
- Sleep
📍 Please Note: Disabling Food entries will also remove the Nutrition tab from the client's portal.
Setting Defaults for New Clients
You can also set these preferences by default for new clients, so you don’t have to update each client’s journals individually.
