This article will show you how to use the AI Charting Assistant for in-person sessions. It will allow you to record, transcribe, and summarize your Practice Better in-person sessions.
The pricing of the AI dictation is based on usage, and you will be billed based on the number of AI credits consumed. 2 AI credits = 1 minute of AI Summary usage. Each AI credit costs $0.005, translating into $0.01/min.
To get started, you must first enable the AI Charting Assistant. You can follow our guide here on how to do this.
Once enabled, you can begin using the AI Summary for in-person sessions.
First, you will need to book an in-person session. Then, you can click on the session from your calendar and click View to go to the session details page.
From the session details page, scroll down to the Recordings section and click Start recording to start recording the session.
You can also click the 3 dots next to the Start recording button to upload an existing audio recording. Files up to a maximum of 200 MB in size can be uploaded.
You will then be prompted to place your device between you and your client.
When first using this feature, you will be prompted to allow Practice Better to use your microphone and to enable this permission.
If you are using Firefox, click allow from the pop-up, as shown in the screenshot below.
If you are using Chrome, you will see the pop-up below that you need to allow to enable access.
If you are using Safari, you will see the pop-up below for microphone access, which you must allow.
If you are experiencing issues enabling this permission, you can test your microphone at this site.
Once you have enabled this permission, you will see the floating window where you can begin recording the session.
Click Record to start recording the session.
Once you start speaking, the audio waves will change to indicate that your and the client’s voices are being picked up and recorded.
If you wish to stop the recording, click Pause. You can resume by clicking Record again.
Once paused, you can Submit the recording and attach it to the session.
Alternatively, you can click Delete recording to erase what has been recorded up to this point.
It will take some time for the recording to be processed. Once complete, you can go to the session details page to View the recording.
You can also access this recording by going to the client’s Notes & Recordings section of their client record.
Next to the recording, you can also click the 3 dots to download the audio or transcript of the session.
If you wish to rename or delete the recording, you can do so from the client’s Notes & Recordings section by clicking the 3 dots next to the recording.
Our AI Charting Assistant can create a summary of the recording and add this to your Notes using placeholders. Click the links below to learn more:
